ROLE OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking a OFCI Manager with specialized expertise in Owner-Furnished, Contractor-Installed (OFCI) equipment management for large-scale data center construction programs in the US. This role requires a seasoned professional to assume full ownership of the OFCI lifecycle, ensuring the timely and correct procurement, delivery, and installation of critical mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires travel as needed to project sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex logistics, coordinating with a wide range of global vendors, and integrating the OFCI scope seamlessly into a fast-paced, multi-billion-dollar construction project. This position demands a high level of accountability, technical acumen, and leadership to mitigate risks and drive predictable outcomes for our client's most critical infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the end-to-end OFCI lifecycle, from submittal review and procurement tracking through factory acceptance testing, delivery, installation, and commissioning.
  • Develop and maintain detailed equipment tracking systems, delivery schedules, and installation plans, ensuring tight coordination with the overall project schedule.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the client, equipment vendors, logistics partners, and the general contractor to proactively resolve issues and ensure seamless integration.
  • Oversee all on-site equipment logistics, including receiving, inventory, storage, and staging, ensuring proper handling and protection from damage.
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance checks on all delivered equipment and monitor field installation to ensure strict compliance with project specifications and design documents.
  • Provide regular, data-driven reporting on OFCI status, risks, and financial performance to project leadership and executive client stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, manufacturing delays, equipment damage, or installation conflicts that could impact project milestones.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive construction project management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role on large-scale, technically complex projects (data centers, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing preferred).
  • Demonstrated, in-depth experience managing the OFCI/CFCI process, including procurement, global logistics, installation, and commissioning of major mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Expert understanding of construction sequencing, trade coordination, and the critical path impact of integrating owner-provided equipment into a fast-track construction environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and contractors simultaneously, enforce contract terms, and drive accountability for performance and quality.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to report complex logistical and technical information clearly to an executive-level audience.
  • Experience working in a client-facing, consultancy environment is highly preferred.
