ROLE OVERVIEW
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide on-site leadership for a large-scale campus development in Shippensberg,PA. This role requires a dedicated presence on a rotational schedule, working two consecutive weeks on-site followed by one week remote. The Project Manager will be integral to driving the project forward, ensuring momentum and establishing robust project controls from the early stages of execution.
This position holds direct responsibility for representing the client's interests on the ground, managing day-to-day construction activities, and ensuring project milestones are met. The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with a proven track record of managing complex, large-value projects and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability in a fast-paced field environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct and oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed in strict accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Manage and drive the project schedule, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to prevent delays and implementing recovery plans as necessary.
- Administer project budgets, control costs, review change orders, and approve invoices to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the client, general contractor, subcontractors, and consultants, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Lead regular project meetings, providing clear and accurate status reports on schedule, budget, risks, and quality to all stakeholders.
- Enforce stringent quality assurance and quality control standards throughout the construction process, conducting regular site inspections and ensuring deficiencies are corrected promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes, ensuring a complete and accurate project record.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a demonstrated history of managing large-scale commercial or institutional projects.
- Proven experience in a client-facing or consultancy role, with exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of construction processes, delivery methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and contracts effectively.
- Proficiency with standard construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be capable of maintaining a consistent on-site presence via the 2-weeks-on, 1-week-off rotational schedule.
